Naruto vs. Sasuke is one of the fights that goes deep into the core of Naruto; a boy struggling to find a path and another struggling to save his friend.
It just came out today and it seems like there is a lot about to happen (this is another one of the leading-up chapters).
In this chapter, Madara is fully alive again and Sasuke manages to burn out his Rinnegan with Amaterasu before it’s absorbed [by Madara].
We find that black Zetsu is an extension of Madara’s will and that he will be using Obito’s body to assist Madara (I assume Kakashi and Yondaime will stop him though).
As a build up chapter, it was really good, but I’m not to happy with the fact that Sasuke finally gets a moment in the manga and he’s pretty much completely useless…he had some good lines (character of Sasuke), but Naruto ended up “correcting” him
And he didn’t manage to inflict any real damage…though this should be expected since there’s still a story to tell with Madara. (I do wonder why Sasuke is on Sai’s hawk though…)
Story wise we did see some important things (such as Madara’s interpretation of the saying on the stone monument. We all had our suspicions as to what his interpretation was, but it was good to see it in the manga itself)
After reading this chapter, I can’t help but wonder what Madara meant by “Straight Comma”…hopefully it will be explained soon
I had a hunch that Madara was going to invite Sasuke to join him at one point (typical bad guy vs. family trope) but I didn’t think it would happen right off the bat in such a situation…
Overall [and this is depressing to say] I wasn’t really impressed with this chapter…a large amount of that is due to how pointless Sasuke seemed in the panels he showed up in. While we were able to see that he’s intent on defeating Madara and isn’t willing to switch sides, non of his “action” scenes were very impressive.
If Sasuke’s such a skilled ninja and genius why doesn’t he have good action scenes? That’s a personal rant for another time though.
I am looking forward to how Kishimoto-sensei resolves all of this new fizz, I trust his story writing skills and he never disappoints (not in the big picture at least).
Until next week~
Naruto 30 day challenge day #7: Favorite Jinchuuriki
This one was tough because I really don’t have one…because I know him the best, Naruto was my automatic “fallback” guy, with Han close behind (mainly because of the 5 tails and the way he looks)

Question: Let us ask you something about your exciting work, that is so greatly admired. Has the end of Naruto already been decided?
Kishimoto-sensei: Not everything is set in stone just yet. For example, I haven’t decided on the events that lead to the end, but the end itself has been decided pretty clearly. So from here on out it will just be a matter of running towards that point.
Question: In that case, do you have in mind how the very last volume will flow?
Kishimoto-sensei: No, you won’t be able to read something like that just yet (laugh). The story really hasn’t progressed as much as I was expecting. About three years ago, at Jump Festa, I said that I would give Kakashi more to do in the manga. However, I still haven’t been able to do that. Honestly, I myself don’t know how much it will take. Nishio-san, who takes care of the character designs for the anime, also asked me for how long the story would continue and I answered “About one year and a half”. But it seems like it will take longer than that.
Question: Can we expect any more surprises?
Kishimoto-sensei: There are still quite a few. Some characters who originally weren’t going to appear will come up again. And then, well, things are going to get exciting with Naruto, so please give me your support.
Question: Is there any material that you weren’t able to include in this year’s movie?
Kishimoto-sensei: I intended to include all of the things that were inside my head. It’s just that I also have some novel ideas. There is some material that I probably won’t be able to insert in the original work, but if I get the okay of the editorial department, secretly I’d like to include it somewhere, like in a non-serialized story. Some suspenseful developments, the details are a secret, but there are many challenges that I’d like to face

What do you think about it?
I can’t believe Naruto will be ending soon (ToT)
Interesting stuff; thank you to Saiyan Island for the interesting updates!
The Naruto Shippuden December 2013 Schedule has been out for over a week, but additional good news just came in today! Through Japanese television guides, its been confirmed Tobi’s identity will be revealed this year on Naruto Shippuden. For those who read the manga, or even for those don’t, but get wind of the the spoilers one way or another other, we will see in the anime that Obito Uchiha is the devious man behind the mask!
The picture from the TV guide teases readers by mentioning the following for Naruto Shippuden episode 343, which is scheduled to air December 19, 2013: “The masked man has the power to teleport part of his body to another dimension, giving the impression that he’s slipping through objects. In that dimension, Naruto’s Rasengan attacks the masked man, and the masked man’s identity is finally revealed.”
In the manga, Obito is revealed to be Tobi in chapter 599. Preceding it is a bit of Obito’s history, however, it’s unclear if the anime will show that in the same episode or wait for the new year.
It’s estimated the Naruto manga will be about 58-60 chapters ahead of the anime by 2013′s end. Naruto author Masashi Kishimoto has mentioned Naruto’s story (in the manga) is at final phase. Saiyan Island will keep you updated with the status of the manga and anime as we read each chapter and watch each episode of Naruto with nervous anticipation of the end – whenever that may be!
It’s almost sad to think there are people out there who don’t yet know who Tobi really is…they’ll know soon enough though
